You are running an important business, one that is built on providing a welcoming, residential environment to the guests you care for — and we want to support you in that mission. That’s why we’ve made an effort to keep the process of buying institutional bedding and furniture from American Bedding as simple as possible.
We know what you are going through when you are considering your mattress and bedding purchases. After all, we’ve been in this business for more than 20 years and understand it pretty well.
But that doesn’t mean that you understand the intricacies of our process — and we are ready to change that! We want to unveil the process and provide a detailed, chronological look at what happens from the time you place an order to the time you receive your product.

The Buying Process
Of course, the mattress buying timeline all begins with you. First, you’ll either have downloaded our catalog or will be perusing our website and you’ll see a product that you just have to have for your facility. Next, you’ll call our friendly, informative sales staff and request a quote, which will arrive within 1 - 2 business days of your phone conversation. Finally, you’ll place your order — and then it’s in our hands!
Custom Orders vs. Standard Sizing
As you can imagine, the average lead-time on orders varies greatly depending on the types of products ordered. Custom orders naturally take longer than standard-sized orders and mattress shipments take longer than furniture shipments because we make all of our mattresses to order.
We keep a large inventory of furniture at American Bedding so that we can offer quick shipping on most of these items. But, again, our mattresses are all made-to-order so lead-times vary based on existing order volumes and the amount of raw materials on-hand.
Keep in mind that when it comes to mattresses:
- All custom-sizes will be a minimum of 2-3 weeks due to the need to order specially-sized raw materials.
- Most standard-size orders can be accommodated fairly quickly, but our lead time averages anywhere between 2 and 4 weeks + transit time for shipping (this can be anywhere from 2 to 7 days).
Ask your sales representative about current lead times so that you can plan your order accordingly!
Delivery & Payment
Now that you’ve placed your order and your items have been shipped out to you, let’s move onto the next big question: what can I expect next?
Standard delivery can take up to 7 business days inside the US, depending on where you are located in relation to our manufacturing facility.
Whether you’ve hired an installation crew or are unloading on your own (which we don’t recommend), the delivery driver will give you a maximum of 2 hours to complete the unloading.
Unless you have prepaid for your order, payment will be expected in full within 10 days of the time of your delivery. Should something happen that prevents this or if there is a problem with the order, we highly recommend reaching out to American Bedding as soon as possible.
