Platinum Metal Bunk Beds

The Platinum Collection metal bunk bed is the crown jewel of the Platinum Furniture collection.  All our Platinum Collection features warm, woodgrain laminate accents, all-steel construction, and a durable powder coat finish.  By combining the rugged strength and durability of institutional furniture with the warmth and comfort of residential furnishings, American Bedding is able to provide any facility with a balance of safety, durability, and comfort. 

The Metal Bunk Bed is no different. We provide the flexibility of choosing between a tempered steel spring base or an all-steel solid panel base.  Additionally, all Platinum bunks feature a demountable design, allowing them to convert into single metal beds and an adjustable sleep surface, allowing you to choose between 75” and 80” inch bed lengths.  With all the features of the platinum bunk, it is sure to meet your facility’s bunk bed needs.

Bed End Construction

• Will not fracture under a bend test
• Free from rust, scale, pits, scratches, and buckles
• 35% recycled content
• Posts constructed of 1½” square weld seam tubing
• Capped Posts
• Panels constructed of rolled sheet metal with reinforced inserts
• 1” square cross tube
• Double hook locks
• Panels 10” high
• No exposed raw metal edges

Spring Base Construction

• Side rails are 2” x 1 ½” x 5/32 rail steel angle with a 2” flange
• End angles are 2” x 1 ½” x 5/32 rail steel angle with 1 ½” flange
• Spring Base converts from 75” length to XL 80” length
• All corners fitted with shoulder rivets to fit double hook locks
• Contains 15 strands of “Z” hook springs
• Springs connected by 4 rows of carbon wire

Finish/Paint

• Top quality powder coating
• All surfaces cleaned and degreased for optimum paint adhesion
• Paint hardened by baking at 325 degrees F for 20 minutes

Solid Panel:

• Solid steel sleep surface resists tampering between bunkmates 
• Each sleep surface rated to 450 lbs 
• Easily converts to a single bed 
• Tamper-resistant and easy to sanitize 
• Adapt-a-rail and ladder easily attach to solid panel 
• Available in 36” and 38” width
