As Secretary, Treasurer and 50% stockholder for American Bedding Manufacturers, Dale Reynolds has a lot of insight into this family-owned business.

Q & A with Dale
What are your responsibilities at American Bedding?
As an owner and founder, I help shape company policies and direction for the long term. I have been involved in several different manufacturing businesses and situations and find my experience helpful in determining our company direction.
In day-to-day operations, I also exhibit as a vendor at our various trade shows. I enjoy traveling and working with people, bringing back American Bedding the trends, and direction of new products as well as an informed perspective on the path our industry is taking.
How did American Bedding get it's start, and why did you stick with it?
We gave a company an unsecured loan, and afterwards, they went bankrupt. We bought the assets of a different bankrupt company from their financial institution. Basically, we threw good money after bad and got lucky!
If you were to pick the most difficult part of starting the company, what would it be?
Talking my brother Boyd Reynolds into quitting his job and running the company as President.
What rewards have you experienced as a result of managing your company?
Seeing the growth and stepping stones over the past 20 years while watching the company compete and thrive in a national marketplace.
What makes you believe in American Bedding?
Surviving for the past 20 years in all types of growth and economic situations gives me confidence to keep going forward.
What has 20 years at American Bedding taught you?
Be flexible and be able to change, but keep your eye on your core business and what brought you to the dance in the first place.
What do you value most and how do you spend your time outside of work?
My faith, my family and my health. I keep up with my children and grandchildren and also serve on a few church and civic committees. I enjoy any type of travel with my family, preferably in the United States and Canada..
