Q & A with Jeff
What are you responsible for at work?
As CEO & President, my primary role is to ensure that all employees, customers (both external and internal), and suppliers have an increasingly positive experience when working with us. My job is to keep the company running smoothly while continually finding new ways to serve our customers and help them achieve their goals.
What makes you excited to join American Bedding?
The founders and associates at American Bedding have excelled in countless ways. The opportunity to join this successful team and try to add to all the good that exists here is what excites me most. It’s a privilege to work alongside such dedicated and talented individuals.
What has been your most rewarding experience at the company so far?
Learning from the team at American Bedding, as well as from our customers and suppliers, has been incredibly rewarding. Observing people play to their strengths and helping them achieve their goals is something I find truly fulfilling. I’ve also learned a lot about leadership and living an abundant life from our team members, especially from Joy, our oldest and wisest associate, and from Boyd, Dale, Don, Hali, Jan, and Mandi Reynolds, who have taught me about leading with kindness and respect.
What is the biggest lesson you've learned in your career?
The more you learn about people, the more you’ll realize how awesome they are. I’ve also learned that if we make a commitment, we keep it. Business should be fun, positive, and rewarding, and I strive to foster that environment every day.
Outside of work, what’s most important to you?
Family is my top priority. My wife and I met doing humanitarian and mission work 35 years ago in Spain, and we’ve continued to serve communities around the world with our four adult children and their spouses. We enjoy spending time together, whether it’s walking, hiking, or simply talking, and we cherish the opportunity to learn, improve, and serve those around us.
What do you do when you're away from work?
I love spending time with my family, reading, exploring the great outdoors, and helping others. Whether it’s hiking, running, or making new friends while keeping up with the old ones, I’m always looking for ways to stay active and engaged in life.
