Transforming Lives: Our Journey with Durham Rescue Mission

We’re excited to share our recent work with the Durham Rescue Mission. As a long-term, repeat customer of American Bedding, we’ve been privileged to watch their dedicated commitment to the Durham community over the years. Recently, we had the privilege of partnering with them on the Mills Family Student Housing facility, providing our product options and installation services that will help DRM make a significant difference in the lives of those in need. Creating a Safe Haven:

At the Mills Family Student Housing facility, we were tasked with setting up a 64-bed facility where residents could find respite while receiving crucial life skills training. The rescue mission’s goal is to offer more than just a bed; and our furniture options help as they work to create a comfortable, welcoming environment for their clients.

Project Details:

In a transitional housing facility, such as the Mills Family Student Housing facility, the single metal beds, and mattresses are just the beginning of providing a comfortable, welcoming environment for long-term care and treatment centers. DRM opted to provide their residents with a full line-up of our Platinum Collection furniture including our [link to all these product pages] double wardrobe, table desks, nightstands, and under bed storage lockers. Providing storage and client-use spaces allows the facility to meet more than just the immediate needs of the clients, but to set them up for success as they work to bridge the gap between homelessness and independence.

Meeting the Growing Need:

The need for safe housing and support services has never been more urgent. Durham Rescue Mission has witnessed a 30 percent increase in individuals seeking assistance since 2021, a trend we are seeing across the industry for rescue missions, drug rehabilitation facilities, and transitional housing services. Our goal is to provide high-quality products to allow our customers to meet this rising demand. By providing comfortable beds and a nurturing environment, we help our customers restore dignity and inspire hope in clients in Durham and across the country.

Our journey with the Durham Rescue Mission has been an incredible experience of transformation.
