4 Misconceptions About Metal Bunks

_GER4264 (1)Have you ever bought something and then realized that what you thought you knew about that product wasn't actually true?

We don't want that to be the case with our metal bunk beds. That's why we're sharing some misconceptions that previous customers have had about our metal beds. Keep reading so you don't end up with the same misunderstandings about our products that they did!

Misconception #1

Metal bunk beds won't last.

When many people think of metal bunk beds, they think of a rusty bed that squeaks every time someone rolls over. If that's what you're picturing, then you're not picturing our bunk beds. We apply a heavy duty powder-coat finish to our beds to protect them from rust, and if they start to squeak over time, all you need to do is tighten the bolts.

You may be surprised to know that after more than 20 years in business, we've never had a single customer ask us to replace their metal bunk beds. We take that to mean that they are holding up rather well!

Misconception #2

Metal bunks come with ladders and rails.

It's important to know that bunk bed ladders and guard rails are sold separately from the bed. Since we offer the Adapt-a-Ladder and the Adapt-a-Rail, these accessories are one-size-fits all so you don't have to worry about choosing the wrong size.

Assembly is also easy. Check out our recent video on how to attach the Adapt-a-Ladder to your metal bunk bed.

Misconception #3

You must choose between a bunk bed or an individual bed.

Decisions are hard, and predictions are even harder. Do you need bunk beds or individual beds? What if you buy metal bunk beds, but later, you realize you should have bought individual beds?

When you buy your metal bunk beds from American Bedding, you don't have to decide between the individual or bunk option because our metal bunks are demountable! Need four individual beds for guests this week and two bunk beds for next week's guests? No problem. With a little re-assembling and re-arranging, you'll be ready!

Misconception#4

Spring Base Bunks sag over time.

Our Spring Base Bunk Beds are designed with “Z” hook springs connected by rows of carbon wire to keep them from sagging. So, unless all of our customers are fibbing about their Spring Base Bunk Beds, we are confident that sagging springs is not an issue.
